Bodies in Balance Pilates Studio is dedicated to preserving the original teachings of Joseph Pilates. The studio is fully equipped with Gratz apparatus, the preferred equipment in the industry. Gratz is a 70-year-old manufacturing company that continues to create according Joseph Pilates original specifications.
Equipment choice is absolutely critical to successful Pilates — and Bodies in Balance offers the best apparati available.
Private sessions and semi-private sessions are tailored to the individual client and his/her needs and goals. Clients are taken through exercise systems progressing through Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced exercises only as the body is ready to progress. The sessions are given on the equipment covering exercises on each piece of equipment according to the needs of the individual body. Both private and semi-private sessions are available by appointment.
Bodies in Balance serves the west St. Louis County and St. Charles County areas.
Mat classes are group sessions with 5-15 participants. The exercises are done on a mat utilizing small 1-2 lb. hand weights and a Magic Circle. The Magic Circle is provided. Participants start in a beginning level class and it is usually appropriate for them to stay at that level for a couple of 6-7 week sessions. Prices range from $12-$17 dollars per class, payable by the full session. The locations and dates for the upcoming sessions are listed below.
Before starting a mat class, participants will need to first enroll in the Introduction to Pilates. This is a series of three mat classes in which the principles of Pilates are thoroughly covered. These classes are very small (4 participants or fewer) so that each participant can get an understanding of the method and any modifications necessary to perform the movements correctly and safely.
